PHI BETA SIGMA FRATERNITY, INC.
BETA BETA SIGMA SCHOLARSHIPS

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity was founded on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. on January 9,

1914, by the Honorable Brothers A. Langston Taylor, Leonard F. Morse, and Charles I. Brown. The fraternity was

organized to exemplify the ideals of brotherhood, scholarship, and service. It has always been our goal to be “a part

of” the general community, an even greater brotherhood which is devoted to the “inclusive we” rather than the

“exclusive we,” seeking to embody “Culture For Service and Service For Humanity.”

The Beta Beta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. was chartered in 1927 in San Antonio, Texas. As the

oldest alumni chapter in the Gulf Coast Region, we have been a continuous part of this village since 1927. To further

our commitment to Bexar County and the surrounding communities, we seek to solidify our relationship with the future

leaders of the San Antonio metropolitan area by forming a bond as they seek their initial two (2) year and four (4)

year degrees. We want to be a part of their “village.” To this end, we will be offering our mentorship along with financial

assistance to graduating high school seniors as they begin their journey into “GOOD TROUBLE.”
